Continuous hacking cough for one year – 13 year old male – Resolved in 3 visits
This case study outlines the treatment of a 13 year old male patient who has suffered a continuous hacking cough for one year, with no improvement after using antibiotics and puffers. The patient’s cough was resolved in 3 visits after taking herbal tea for 8 days.
Visit 1: April 8, 2025
Presentation: Patient (13 year old male) has had a continuous hacking cough for one year which occurs off and on, and had been treated with antibiotics and puffer without improvement. The coughing presents for several weeks every month, and patient is unable to attend school during coughing episodes due to the intensity and frequency of cough. Coughing is dry and non-productive and is present during the day, but not when patient is sleeping.

Visit 3: April 13, 2025 (2 days later)
Presentation: Cough is less intense, but frequency still same. It was also noted that patient had previous food allergies and reactions (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea)

After patient took half (one bag of tea), his mother informed me that his cough had completely subsided, and upon finishing the tea and following up 3 weeks later she informed me that patient’s cough did not come back and was back at school normally.
Patient subsequently came for further treatment of food allergies.
